TeluguPeople Foundation is pleased to offer scholarship of ₹10,000 to Durgarao Gurrala of Burja, Srikakulam District to attend B Tech 2nd year at JNTU College of Engineeting, Vizianagaram.
Durgarao comes from a very poor family of four. Father earns about 200 ₹ a day working as a day laborer in a village. His family lives in a straw hut with bamboo woven walls (see photo). Durgarao graduated from Zilla Parishad highschool with over 95% and Government polytechnic college with over 93%. He did not let his family’s financial condition discourage him and achieved 6th rank in state administered ECET, Entrance test for engineering admissions. His tuition and hostel fees are fully paid for by Government based on his academic performance and social class. However, he sought some support from TPF to pay for sundry expenses such as books and transportation, which his family is not in a position to afford.
We are happy to offer this well-deserved student some financial help to relieve pressure off the family so he can focus on education without having to worry about family’s financial problems. Wish him success in his academics and hope he has wonderful career where he can support himself, his family and society.
